Amy: You have inspired me to write an entry about my son when he was your son’s age. David didn’t have nearly the talent of your young prodigy, but I wanted him to have an appreciation for art and to never be intimidated by it or self-expression. I succeeded. He’s not artistic but he gained all the other benefits. :)

I applaud you with many encores for the encouragement you are giving your son. Encouragement on so many levels is required for a healthy self-esteem – but to also enhance it with talent and an appreciation for the fine arts…. Well, I say *Bravo!*

If you are so inclined, I posted a mini tour of my home on December 1st & 2nd. And if you want to see a few pieces of my own work, I posted a few sales on 7/23/2007. Oh, I should warn you that Jamie is far more talented than I – or has a more trained eye. My work is very very primitive and a lot of fun – and I offer no apologies! :)

Thanks again for sharing Jamie’s talent. xoxo

I meant to mention that I think all of Jamie's art is wonderful, but I especially like the house drawing - the use of color and the repetition of shapes - those are two of many, many nuances that catch my eye. I have no formal training, but I once worked in museum installation and learned from very talented people some curatorial skills.

Reenie: Help a sister out, please! I've tried to find your post and your home tour and have failed MISERABLY. Foo. Can you send me a link or two? Also, a million thanks from the both of us. Jamie is so enjoying your comments (I have no reservations about reading my posts and people's comments regarding them to Jamie). I can't wait, either, for you to see the version of Mickey Mouse that Jamie drew tonight... It is amazing! Unfortunately, my scanner is at work so I won't be able to show you until Monday. In the meantime, I am so very interested in the posts you mentioned. xo. A and J.

You will see a column of years. Click on 2007 then go to December for the two tours on the 1st & 2nd. Then click on the month July and go to the 23rd. Hope that makes sense.

These are great! The first one reminds me of Dragon, from Shrek.

Great pictures - I LOVE kids art. At the risk of sounding pretentious, kids art is honest. They remind me of Trogdor from the StrongBad site. It's a site totally aimed at teenagers or 30 something guys who live in their Mom's basement and go to Star Trek or D & D conventions, but funny nonetheless. If you've never seen it, ignore my obscure reference or check it out - homestarrunner.com.
Again - very juvenile & but funny.
